Want to have your own Auto Responder without having to install Trillian or Messenger Plus? It’s easy, all you have to do is enable the option in Windows Live Messenger, and then install the plug-in.

Here’s how:

1. Open the Registry Editor and then locate the following path

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger]

2. Create a new DWORD Key, and then rename it as AddInFeatureEnabled

3. Double click to set it’s value to 1.

4. Close Registry Editor, and then go to the Windows Live Messenger options.

5. You should now see something like this.

7. Locate the Add-in and then click OK to close the options window.

8. You have to start it manually by clicking the status chooser (Online, Away, Busy, etc.)
